Last night in the desert

This weekend was our friend Taylor's birthday so we rented a fantastic house in the Wonder Valley desert.
This is poisonous.
Michael seeing what it feels like to be caucasian.
The Beauty Bubble Musuem next door.
The tortoise and the hare! Oh the irony kills me.

A quick trip to SF

I took a quick trip up to SF over Labor Day weekend. Bettig already posted the highlights so I won't repeat. Another highlight was visiting my grandmother. She is rad. We share the same nickname "Flaca." Back in her day she was a Pachuca and used to hide a switchblade in her updo. People also called her "Chile" as in chile pepper because of her temper. She doesn't get around so much these days as she's living in a retirement home, spending most of her days laying on a bed, and sharing a room with several other ladies, sometimes she plays bowling on the Nintendo Wii.
While my mom and I were hanging with her this day one of her "roommates" was moaning "help me" from her bed which was behind a curtain. I asked if I should get a nurse, my grandmother said no and that this woman was a pain in the ass and she was always doing that. Then my grandma turned in the lady's direction and said "hey! I've got a pillow with your name on it!" My mom and I were cracking up and my grandmother says "I'd do it myself I could get up."

Mixed Bag

This one evening I was hanging out with my friend Chris, he decided to take a walk down to the store around 1am. About 1min after he left I had passed out on the couch, the next thing I know he's standing in front of me holding something. I was in a total fog but when my eyes finally adjusted - lo and behold! He had returned with a bunny!!! The little guy was just hanging on the street corner! Chris was extremely bewildered, the bunny was scared, and I was thrilled about the new bunny friend. We decided to keep him in the bathtub and fed him sugar snap peas. He was super cute and friendly and potty trained as we found out! Anyhow, the adventure in bunny-sitting was short lived. He was returned to his owner the next day.
Los Angeles National Forest fire from Los Feliz Blvd. :(
Visiting my friend Tim. He is working on some new pieces. This one isn't finished.
That's him up in the tree.
Dot the Chihuahua. The one and only Chihuahua as far as I'm concerned.

PUFF PUFF PASS

The golden rule in SF...
just got back from an amazing and super quick trip up to SF.. went and looked at CCA's MFA program, saw my boy Zach who's in the program currently, The Date Farmers show up at Fifty24SF, stopped by GRSF to hang out with Luke and check the ALbert Reyes, Matt Furie & Aiyana Udesen show, went to Steve MacDonald's opening at Rare Device and got to talk to Lisa Congdon & Wilfredo for a bit, cruised to Parklife to see the Andrew Schoultz, Chris Ballantyne & Mark Mulroney show, went to RVCA and was a little unnerved by the evil California Raisins windows, picked up my new print editions from my printer Nat @ Bloom Press, and was just generally psyched for the rad fall weather while wandering around ... I think NORCAL is calling.
